Carissa Cascio

Associate Professor of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

Dr. Cascio's research program focuses on the neural basis of sensory processing differences in children and adults with autism. She uses a combination of sensory testing and neuroimaging to investigate how different kinds of sensory processing are disrupted in autism, and what role that disruption may play in the core features of autism such as decreased socialization, restricted interests, and repetitive behaviors.
