Thirty years of honors

Here’s a list of the national, regional and state awards won by House Organ in its first three decades.

  • 2008—Prism Award in Writing to Wayne Wood for “Alex and His Father,” the story of Tom and Alex Cook, which ran in the December 2007-January 2008 issue. The Prisms are conducted by the Tennessee Society for Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations.
  • 2007—Prism Award in Internal Publications, for the best internal hospital magazine in Tennessee.
  • 2006—Grand Award in Internal Tabloids and Newsletters category of the District III of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the leading organization of university-based communicators in the U.S. and Canada. A CASE Award is a widely-recognized sign of quality among universities.
  • 2005—Grand Award, Internal Tabloids and Newsletters category, CASE District III.
  • 2004—Award of Excellence, Other Magazines category, CASE District III.
  • 2001—Silver Medal Award, Internal Audience Newsletters, CASE national competition.
  • 2001—Silver Medal Award, Periodical Special Issues, CASE.
  • 2000—Award of Distinction, Internal Audience Periodicals, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).
  • 2000—Bronze Medal Award, Internal Audience Newsletters, CASE.
  • 2000—Silver Medal Award, Individual In-House Publications, CASE.
  • 1999—Bronze Medal Award, Individual In-House Publications, CASE.
  • 1998—Parthenon Award Certificate of Merit in Feature Writing for Wayne Wood from the Nashville chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).
  • 1993—Touchstone Award in Writing for Wayne Wood from the American Society of Health Care Marketing and Public Relations.
  • 1993—Bronze Medal Award, Best Articles of the Year category, CASE.
  • 1991—Gold Medal Award in Internal Publications, CASE.
  • 1990—Parthenon Award of Merit, Internal Publications from the Nashville chapter of PRSA.
