Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) brings Vanderbilt’s vision to life by creating spaces that support the academic mission and embody the university's pursuit of excellence and innovation.

Built on collaboration, PDC is structured to partner with the campus community to deliver projects efficiently, effectively, and on time. The team is organized into three departments, Programming and Planning, Design, and Construction, which together manage everything from renovations to major capital projects.

The Planning and Programming team leads the development and execution of Vanderbilt’s comprehensive master plan, guiding the strategic use of campus space to support the university’s mission. The team collaborates with campus partners to evaluate space needs, develop planning solutions, and coordinate projects across all scales.

Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, defining project scopes, creating concept designs, and managing budgets, schedules, and timelines. The department ensures clear communication with stakeholders and leadership, maintains project governance, and oversees alignment with institutional goals from planning through completion.
