The Vanderbilt Collaborative for STEM Education and Outreach (CSEO), formerly the Center for Science Outreach (CSO), is dedicated to enhancing literacy in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through the establishment of unique partnerships between University scientists, K-12 educators and students, and the local and global science community. The CSEO has developed and implemented a number of educational programs in partnership with local and national K-12 classrooms. These efforts, funded through a variety of state and national public and private agencies and donations from private individuals and families,  have reached thousands of children, supported teachers in residence on the Vanderbilt campus, hosted summer professional development courses and workshops for teachers, offered summer programs for students, and placed teachers and students in research laboratories. As a national leader in outreach efforts, the CSEO is committed to elevating pre-collegiate STEM expertise and literacy.
