Congratulations: Ben Brown & Alican Gulsevin
Brown receives NIH funding
Congratulations to Ben Brown, research assistant professor in the Meiler lab, on his recent NIH award for his project titled Developing a computational platform for induced-fit and chemogenetic drug design.
The goal of the project is to integrate AI and physics-based molecular modeling methods to address longstanding challenges in modeling largescale induced-fit changes during high-throughput computer-aided drug design. Ben applies the tools he develops with existing methods to discover new partial agonists of the mu opioid receptor to help treat addiction and manage chronic pain with less addictive substances.
Gulsevin accepts new position
Congratulations to Alican Gulsevin, research assistant professor in the Meiler lab, who has accepted a new position at Butler
University to begin
in August 2023. Alican will be an assistant professor in the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the college of Pharmacy & Health Sciences.
His research will focus on the modeling of membrane proteins with Rosetta and machine-learning based tools.
