Posted by on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 in News.

In May, AmStatNews published a compilation of thank-you notes from American Statistical Association members to mentors who made a big difference to them. The feature included a testimonial from PhD candidate and 2022 Commodore Award winner Jamie Joseph about the role associate professor Rameela Raman has played in her success.

Raman was one of the first recipients of the Health Equity Research Grants sponsored by the Vanderbilt Center for Health Services Research and has recently published findings in Critical Care ExplorationsAmerican Statistician, and elsewhere. Her collaborations include a scoping review of child welfare outcomes published in Children and Youth Services Review with Joseph as first author. Raman was recognized by the department’s graduate students in 2019 as Outstanding Faculty Mentor.
