Out Of Ideas: Senior Show 2023 and Department Open House set for April 14
The Vanderbilt University Department of Art presents the 2023 Margaret Stonewall Wooldridge Hamblet Thesis Exhibitions. Featuring the work of Portia Jones, Avery Bradley, Ben Damir, Adam Alwan, Teal Caudle, and Won Jun Seok, Out of Ideas: The Senior Show 2023 will showcase installations that include a variety of media and conceptual ideas.
This exhibition will be on view from April 14 to May 12, 2023 with an opening reception scheduled on April 14, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm.
As part of the senior year experience, the exhibiting student artists have the opportunity to also compete in the Margaret Stonewall Wooldridge Hamblet Award competition. The award recipient will receive a $25,000 travel grant to fund travel and art making. This experience will culminate in a solo exhibition in Space 204 a year and a half after graduation. In addition to the Hamblet Award, a merit award is given to a second student artist.
In tandem with the opening of Out of Ideas: The Senior Show 2023, the Department of Art classes will present the work of the ARTS classes throughout the Studio Arts Center and The Student Gallery. The Open House welcomes the Vanderbilt and Nashville community to the E. Bronson Ingram Studio Arts Center to celebrate the hard work of the ARTS students.
