Our Mission
The Institute for the Advancement of Higher Education, or AdvancED, exists to promote cutting-edge, research-backed innovations in pedagogy and student experience to maximize the impact of new ideas on society. Part of Vanderbilt’s Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Education, AdvancED combines the talent and expertise of the Office of Education Design and Development and Office of Learning Innovation and is organized around three primary focus areas including, instructional development, learning innovation, and student success.

From deepening your teaching practice and pedagogical approaches to designing research-informed classroom experiences, AdvancED serves Vanderbilt’s faculty through faculty development and training.
Learning Innovation
AdvancED works closely with faculty to design and innovate uniquely Vanderbilt educational solutions that meet the needs of an expanding and evolving community of learners.
Student Success
AdvancED works closely with faculty, departments, schools and colleges to meet learning objectives, outcomes, and support and maximize success for all Vanderbilt students.
