I am primarily interested in the development and onset of depression, with an additional interest in self-injurious and suicidal behaviors.  Specifically, I am interested in the differential ways in which children incorporate negative feedback (in the form of peer victimization) into distinct cognitive styles, how these pathways change across childhood and adolescence, and how these processes relate to cognitive theories of depression and suicide among adults.  I hope to pursue this line of study in order to inform the development of tailored prevention and early intervention techniques for youth at risk for depression.
