Yumeng (Mong) Zhang is a third year undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University majoring in Medicine, Health, and Society. Since her first year, she has been working at the Vanderbilt Music Cognition Lab with the Music and Social Engagement Group led by Dr. Miriam Lense. She will be completing her senior honors thesis on the relationship between parent infant-directed communication and their child’s developmental status. Mong is also involved with Double Major A Cappella and Tour Guides on campus, and volunteers as a W.O. Smith School violin teacher and a Music Therapy assistant at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. In the fall of 2019, she studied abroad in New Delhi, India, through SIT India’s public health program and concluded the semester with a four-week Independent Study Project.
