Why did you choose to attend Vanderbilt?

I wanted a balance between a school with a strong academic programme and a strong bowling team and Vanderbilt provided me with the best opportunity for that.

What are your career goals?

I would like to work in research, be it in academia or industry. I am planning to go to graduate school to pursue a PhD working on MRI temperature imaging. I hope to be able to improve MRI temperature imaging methods to grow the field of non-invasive surgery.

What does it take to be academically successful at Vanderbilt?

Firstly, knowing that it is okay to ask others for help, be it going to professors’ office hours, asking friends for help or asking for a tutor. Secondly, staying on top of your work is important, because it can pile up pretty quickly.

How do you manage your demanding schedule?

Staying focused on what I am doing, whether it is practice, work, or playing. It reduces the amount of time it takes to do anything drastically.

What is your ritual before taking a test?

I don’t think I have a ritual before a test. I sometimes eat while taking tests.

What is your favorite quote?

“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” -Luke 6:31
