Summary: 

Vanderbilt University seeks an experienced, effective, and creative leader for the position of Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) and Chief Facilities Officer.  Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Administration, the AVC and Chief Facilities Officer is a critical leadership role with responsibility for shaping, guiding, directing, and leading strategically focused facilities solutions that support the mission and goals of the University in a manner that maximizes operational excellence, financial strength, sustainability, and collaboration.  The overarching goal of the AVC and Chief Facilities Officer will be to create a best-in-class facilities model for Vanderbilt University.  The search is being conducted due to the necessity to secure a leader who can manage an expansive upcoming capital program and ensure continued sophistication not only within the facilities department, but also provide senior leadership to the University as a whole. The AVC and Chief Facilities Officer supports the mission, vision, and overall advancement of Vanderbilt University and is responsible for providing a well-maintained, sustainable campus.  A key leader in the Division of Administration, the AVC and Chief Facilities Officer works closely with senior leaders across campus and is responsible for planning, program management, and implementation of best practices for all aspects of campus facilities and grounds operations, maintenance, utilities, and construction as well as real estate initiatives.  S/he provides advice and counsel to campus leadership on facilities management and capital planning; promotes a positive, productive, and proactive customer-oriented work environment that fosters openness and trust; and maintains and enhances productive relationships across campus and with the community in matters related to facilities.
