Lunar Labs Initiative

The goal of the Vanderbilt Lunar Labs Initiative is to lead cross-disciplinary research and innovation uniquely enabled by the lunar surface. Our mission is guided by three core objectives:

  • Scientific Discovery
Foster collaborative research across disciplines that leverages the Moon as a platform for transformative science.

  • Education and Workforce Development
Train and prepare the next generation of U.S. scientists, engineers, and policy leaders for the emerging space economy.

  • Shared Research Infrastructure
Build a collaborative ecosystem at Vanderbilt that supports sustained engagement in lunar exploration and technology development.

The Initiative is supported by the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Innovation and the Office of the Chancellor at Vanderbilt University. We are thankful for support from the REAM Foundation.
