This study center program examines the social, political, economic and environmental issues of development through site visits and field activities in Uganda and Rwanda. Coursework also includes learning one of the local languages, Luganda. In addition to their coursework students will complete either a field-based independent study project or a hands-on internship with a community-based, national, or international development organization. As a required piece of this program, students will live with a host family in urban Kampala, a vibrant, cosmopolitan city on the shores of Lake Victoria. Students, along with a program peer, will also partake in a rural homestay.
