In this program, facilitated by CIEE, students enroll directly at Yonsei University, a top-ranked Korean University in Seoul. Students are able to take courses from a wide array of subjects in English or Korean, including Intensive Korean language courses at all levels, architecture, business, engineering, computer science, Asian studies and more. From temples to tea fields to museums, there are many organized trips and activities outside of the classroom. In addition to being paired up with local Korean students who serve as social and cultural guides to the city, there are opportunities for volunteering in the community, which could be incorporated into an Immersion Vanderbilt plan. 

Departmental Restrictions

Students cannot take courses in the following departments:

  • Medicine
  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy
  • Nursing
  • Music
  • MBA
  • Law School


**Business courses (course code: BIZ) are in high demand every semester, so they are strictly open to business major and students can only take a max of 4 courses on the subject per semester. For HOD students wanting to take business courses to satisfy their major requirements MUST list "BUSINESS" as their major on the CIEE and Yonsei application.
