Stephanie Shipp is the Risk and Insurance Director at Vanderbilt University, overseeing risk mitigation and transfer, claims, and the university’s insurance procurement function, including managing the relationship with the university’s insurance brokers, underwriters, and third-party service providers.
Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Stephanie worked for a large insurance brokerage, placing insurance for clients from multiple industries. She has extensive experience in insurance management, budget management, analytics, and relationship management, and a proven track record of diligence, accuracy, and thoroughness.
Stephanie holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) from Middle Tennessee State University.
Under her leadership, Vanderbilt’s Risk and Insurance Management team strives to provide responsive and high-quality service to the university, and its insurance program and risk mitigation philosophy stand out amongst Vanderbilt’s peers in delivered value. Stephanie is committed to the university’s mission and is dedicated to her role in driving Vanderbilt’s continued success.
Stephanie enjoys spring and fall walks through campus and hearing live music, and lives in Nashville with her husband and two daughters.
