Nora Brandon

Senior Manager, Legal Projects & eDiscovery

Nora Brandon is the Senior Manager, Legal Projects & eDiscovery at Vanderbilt University, where she manages in-house eDiscovery operations, oversees paralegal and law clerk workflow, and supports the attorneys and Chief of Staff. In this position, she is responsible for implementing and coordinating client-related projects, conducting legal research and background checks, placing legal holds, drafting briefs and responses, facilitating records requests, and supporting litigation matters and investigations. Nora is instrumental in developing legal process improvements and manages the waivers process for students, faculty, and staff events.

Before joining Vanderbilt University’s Office of the General Counsel, Nora spent over a decade working in higher education administration as Office Manager to the Dean of the Related Studies Department at Nashville College and later to the Dean of the Institute of Government at Tennessee State University.  In both managerial roles, she played a key role in coordinating academic operations, supporting faculty and students, and ensuring organizational efficiency and academic excellence.   Nora’s legal career began as a paralegal at the law offices of King & Ballow and later Lassiter, Tidwell, & Hildebrand, PLLC where she gained extensive experience in the practice areas of labor and employment law, corporate law, entertainment law, bankruptcy law, wage & hour, NLRB litigation, and other litigation, media law, business law, estate planning, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

Nora holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Architectural Engineering from Nashville State College, a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Criminal Justice Administration from Tennessee State University, and a Master of Science (M.S.) in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently pursuing a Juris Doctor degree (J.D.). Nora is a Supreme Court-listed Rule 31 Mediator, notary, and member of the Napier Looby Bar Association, American Bar Association, Tennessee Association of Professional Mediators, and National Notary Association.

In 2016 Nora was a nominee for the Vanderbilt University Chancellor’s Staff Appreciation Award. This award acknowledged her outstanding individual daily contributions to the Office of the General Counsel and the university community. Nora’s career reflects a deep understanding of the administrative and legal needs within academic institutions, as well as a strong commitment to service and institutional success.

Nora enjoys attending sporting events and concerts, traveling, and volunteering at her church and other non-profit organizations.
