Attorneys in the Office of General Counsel work closely with the Division of Human Resource Services to provide legal advice about the University's rights and obligations under laws that affect its relationship with employees. The office also advises the Equal Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and Disability Services Department concerning the application of federal civil rights laws to Vanderbilt as an employer. In this role Vanderbilt attorneys deal with wage and hour rules, non-discrimination laws, and all University policies applicable to the workplace.
