Sarah Lotspeich

Degree Program: Ph.D., Biostatistics
Advisor: Bryan Shepherd, Robert Johnson

Hi! I’m Sarah Lotspeich and I’m a biostatistics PhD student here at Vanderbilt. I grew up on the east coast of Florida, and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.S. in Statistics in May 2016 (go Gators!). I have a soft spot for well-made maps, and love any sort of data with a location component (spatiotemporal, geospatial, you name it). With biostatistics, I’m most passionate about public health and health care disparities. I’m currently involved in projects in our department developing data audit methods for HIV/Aids sites and methodology for life expectancy calculations over small geographic areas. When I’m not writing R code, I enjoy crochet, baking, being outdoors, reading adventure books in my hammock, eating Indian food, and Grey’s Anatomy. Welcome to Vandy Biostatistics!
