Degree Program: PhD, Biostatistics
BA, Biology, Macalester College (Community and Global Health and Geography minor)
Originally from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Lisa most recently worked in Seattle on vaccine trials and translational research at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Her interest in biostatistics started when she was collaborating with the lab’s statistical unit and grew as she learned about the underpinning mathematics. Since discovering the world of public health and academic medicine through internships at the Mayo Clinic and the Minnesota Department of Health, she continues to be motivated by real-world problems and using science to improve health outcomes. In her free time, Lisa enjoys being creative in the kitchen (cooking, baking, drinking tea) and going for outdoor adventures with her partner and their dog, Buddy.
