“I’m excited to serve as an ambassador and share a unique perspective about military service with the Vanderbilt student body.”

Tell us about your military service. What did you do? Where did you serve? What do you value the most about your military service?

I flew F-18’s for the Navy then KC-135’s for the Alabama Air National Guard. I have served six deployments to the Middle East, two in the Navy, and four in the Air National Guard. Supporting the troops on the ground and serving with great people were some of the highlights from my military service.

What are your thoughts on mentoring other students while at Vanderbilt? As a role model, what values do you want to share?

I welcome the opportunity to invest in others and help them learn from my experiences. There are many I would love to list, but a few of the major ones are servant-hood leadership, gratitude, and humility.

While at Vanderbilt, what will be the focus of your studies and how do you plan to use this knowledge in your future career?

While at Owen I plan to concentrate in finance and pursue a career in management consulting.

What would you tell other veterans about the Bass Military Scholars Program?

The Bass Military Scholars Program extends far beyond simply being a valuable financial resource. One is afforded the opportunity to build valuable relationships and continue to serve one’s community all while attending a highly ranked university in a great city.
