The generous support of foundations has long been critical to Vanderbilt's success.
An internationally recognized private research university, the institution is proud of its strong partnerships across its 10 schools and with the community.
Because of its commitment to collaboration and its ability to work beyond traditional boundaries, Vanderbilt continues to improve upon its reputation for cutting-edge research, distinguished teaching and learning, and a tradition of outreach to the community.
Vanderbilt University’s Office of Foundation Relations identifies, cultivates, coordinates, solicits and stewards relationships with foundations that lead to support for the institution’s highest priorities. We work to understand each foundation's mission and recognize the importance of identifying a good match between the foundation's interests and Vanderbilt's programs and projects.
We serve as liaisons between foundation officers and Vanderbilt leadership, faculty members and program directors. We assist in proposal development, coordinate communications, and help maintain and advance the relationship during and beyond the grant period.
