| Notre Dame Head
Coach Jay Louderback
"I thought we played really well today. The key
for us was winning at No. 1 doubles. They (Missouri)
have a really good No. 1 doubles team, but we played
unbelievably well today. When you get into the NCAA
Tournament and you have two good teams going at it,
the doubles point is such a key."
"It was great for Alicia (Salas) and Sarah Jane
(Connelly) to get up as fast as they did (at No. 2 and
No. 4 singles). That really took the pressure off our
other singles players. I also thought Kristina (Stastny)
did a great job fighting back to win her first set that
put us in four of the six singles and got us rolling
in a hurry."
Missouri Head Coach Blake Starkey
"The doubles point was the key to the match. We
were very off at the No. 1 doubles spot. It's atypical
for us to lose at that spot and it sort of set the tone
for the entire match."
"In the singles, we didn't lose, we just ran out
of time. Notre Dame played well and they are a very
good team. They just outplayed us in some spots."
"The NCAA Tournament is just another match, but
it just has 'NCAA' in front of it. Last week, the players
were asking me what they needed to do to prepare for
the NCAA Tournament, and I told them to just do what
they have been doing since they were eight years old
- which is play tennis."
