A technically sound player who is an excellent passer and
field leader, Mitchell will join the Commodores' midfield
corps this season. She comes to Vanderbilt after an impressive
club and high school career highlighted by state championships
for her school and club team. Her desire, hustle, and skill
in the midfield will quickly become an asset for Vanderbilt
this season.
High School/Club: An all-state midfielder at Severna
Park HS, Mitchell led the Falcons to the 4A Maryland State
Championship in 2000, the state championship final in 1998,
and four county championships...Scored the game-winner in
double overtime in the 2000 state semifinals...Team MVP and
captain as a senior...30 goals and 28 assists in high school
career...Three time All-County...Club team Bethesda Dragons
won state championship in 1999 and 2001...The club also won
the Disney Showcase in December 2001...Veteran of the Maryland
ODP team...ODP team reached national finals in 2000...Also
lettered in track where she was all-state in 1999 and was
part of Severna Park's all-county 4x800 meter relay team.
