Vanderbilt Women's Basketball #4 Seed in East
Commodores travel to Norfolk, Va., to take on Liberty

The Vanderbilt Commodore women's basketball team (21-9) is the #4 seed in the East Region and will play the #13 seed Liberty (26-3) in first round action of the NCAA Tournament in Norfolk, Va. Boston College (20-8), the #5 seed will play Old Dominion (21-20) who is the #12 seed. First and Second round action will be played in the Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va. with Old Dominion hosting the event. Connecticut (31-1) is the #1 seed in the East.

The Commodores have made 16 NCAA Tournament appearances, including two consecutive appearances in the Regional Final game. This is the fifth time that Vanderbilt has played in the East Region owning a record of 4-4. The last appearance was in 1994 when Vanderbilt lost to North Carolina (73-69) in the Regional semifinal game. In 1992, Vanderbilt lost in the Regional finals to Virginia, 70-58. Vanderbilt owns an overall record of 25-15 in NCAA Tournament games, including a 19-5 mark in first and second rounds.
