Snedeker Climbs to No. 3
in Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings 10/23/02
NASHVILLE,
Tenn. - Vanderbilt's Brandt Snedeker moved up to No. 3 in
the nation in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin Poll, while the
Commodores as a team moved to No. 12. Neither ranking reflects
Vanderbilt's performance at the Tennessee Coca-Cola Tournament
of Champions where Snedeker won his third consecutive tournament
title and the Commodores finished tied for third place as
a team.
In the three tournaments taken into consideration for this
poll, Vanderbilt is 26-11 overall, 3-4 against Top-25 teams,
4-10 versus Top-50 teams and 20-11 against Top-100 teams.
Individually, Snedeker moved up from No. 6 to No. 3 after
claiming his second consecutive tournament championship
with a nine-under-par score of 135 at the rain-shortened
Gary Koch Intercollegiate. This came on the heels of his
tournament win with a 12-under-par score of 198 at the Mason
Rudolph Championship at the Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn.
In the three tournaments taken into consideration for this
poll, Snedeker is 216-1-1 overall, 1-0-1 versus Top-25 players,
10-1-1 against Top-50 players and 20-1-1 versus Top-100
competition.
Vanderbilt is back in action November 4-5 at The Prestige
in Palm Springs, Calif.
