Lacrosse
Falls in ALC match to Hopkins 8-5 3/30/03
Vanderbilt suffered another tough loss this afternoon
as the lacrosse team went
head to head against fellow American Lacrosse foe, Johns
Hopkins University. In
a fairly low scoring game, there were few highlights
to speak of by both teams.
Hopkins came out strong in the first half, winning and
scoring off most draw
controls. Numerous turnovers and fouls by Vanderbilt
would aide the Blue Jays
in their quest for the conference win. The score at
half time would be
Vanderbilt 2 and Hopkins 6.
Though in the second period, Vanderbilt would be fairly
successful in shutting
down a strong Hopkins offense, the Blue Jay's defense
would be equally
successful in not allowing the Commodore offense to
score. As the time ran off
the clock, Vanderbilt would be down three goals to the
Blue Jay's 8.
Scorers for Vanderbilt included, Lauren Peck (2), Michelle
Allen (1), Jessica
Roguski (1), and Meg Spies (1).
With this loss Vanderbilt now falls to 3-4 overall,
and 1-2 in the ALC. |
