Team captain... 2001 MVP at Marietta High... Team went 8-3 and state playoffs... Two-way starter at TE and OLB, plus participated in all special teams... In 2001, had 46 tackles, 13 assists, eight tackles for loss, a sack, forced fumble and three blocked field goals... Also had eight catches for 90 yards and a TD... 4.5 40-yard speed, strong ethic in weightroom... Named Marietta Area Super 11, and was a two-time all-district and all-region selection... School also produced former Georgia Bulldog QB Eric Zeier and current Tennessee RB Derrick Tinsley.
