Cross Country Ends Season at Regionals November 13, 1999
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -The Vanderbilt cross country teams ended their 1999 campaigns at the NCAA South Region Qualifying Meet at Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Ala. The women's team finished 12th with 284 points and the men finished 21st with 637 points. Leading the way once again for the women's squad was Beth Van Dusen, who covered the 5K course in a time of 17:15.28 to finish 10th. Rounding out the top five for the women's team were Colleen Byrne (54th, 18:20.90), Lauren Price (71st, 18:39.93), Kylene Kownurko (79th, 18:46.63) and Keri Freeman (84th, 18:52.40). The top runner on the men's side was Michael Brookshire, who finished 125th with a time of 33:55.27 on the 10K course. Rounding out the top five for the men's team were Alan Hendrick (132nd, 34:16.04), Nitin Jhamb (133rd, 34:17.21), Mark Rosenthal (144th, 35:05.10) and Ryan Williams (148th, 35:27.70).
