How to Submit a Manuscript

  • The manuscript competition begins with an open call for submissions. The 2011 date for the open call for submissions is November 30, 2010.  To enter the competition, interested candidates should email a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a book prospectus to the Executive Director at: ici@vanderbilt.edu (candidates may also send this information by hard copy). 

 

  • Based on the preliminary submissions, the Executive Director will invite candidates to submit full manuscripts to the competition.

2011 Manuscript Competition

We are extending the deadline for the receipt of letters of inquiry to the 2011 ICI book competition to 1 February 2011. Please see calendar below for emendations:

November 30, 2010-Feburary 1, 2011: Open call for applications to the 2011 ICI Book Competition

February 15, 2011: Candidates notified if they are invited to submit a full manuscript

March 15-30, 2011: Manuscript submissions. The full manuscript is due. All submissions must be exclusive to ICI.

April 1-August 1, 2011: Manuscript evaluations

September 29-October 1, 2011: Fall Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee. Fall symposium is to include panels, roundtables and film; and closing banquet on Saturday evening.

Fall 2012:  Prize winners will be announced.
