Judging

eyeglassesEntries will be judged in four rounds by the Executive Director, the Board of Readers and the Executive- Advisory Boards. Authors will receive anonymous feedback from their reviewers at the end of the second stage of the competition.

ICI’s boards are made up of senior professors in fields spanning the Humanities and Social Sciences, including History, Latin American Studies, English, Women's Studies and African Diasporic Studies. These senior scholars are experts in their fields, each having published widely. See a complete list of board members.

2011 Manuscript Competition

We are extending the deadline for the receipt of letters of inquiry to the 2011 ICI book competition to 1 February 2011. Please see calendar below for emendations:

November 30, 2010-Feburary 1, 2011: Open call for applications to the 2011 ICI Book Competition

February 15, 2011: Candidates notified if they are invited to submit a full manuscript

March 15-30, 2011: Manuscript submissions. The full manuscript is due. All submissions must be exclusive to ICI.

April 1-August 1, 2011: Manuscript evaluations

September 29-October 1, 2011: Fall Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee. Fall symposium is to include panels, roundtables and film; and closing banquet on Saturday evening.

Fall 2012:  Prize winners will be announced.
