Maintenance and Energy Management

The Maintenance and Energy Management department is comprised of three areas - campus maintenance, energy management, and utilities and automation. 


Campus Maintenance

The maintenance team provides crucial services to the university including electrical, plumbing, HAR, carpentry, corrective and preventative maintenance, and additional special services.

Energy Management

The Energy Management team with VU Maintenance and Operations, Campus Planning and Construction and the Sustainability and Environmental Management Office to design, develop, implement, and track energy efficiency initiatives and campus and powerhouse improvement projects as well as develop the Campus Utility Master Plan. Projects range from design of new chilled water distribution to energy saving projects such as lighting retrofits, lighting controls and steam turbine chiller installations.

Utilities and Automation

The Utilities and Automation department oversees building automation, fire/life safety, Building Systems Controls (BSC), and distributed water.
