Overview
Rahul Shah is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Interdisciplinary Materials Science program and conducts his research in the NanOptics Lab under the guidance of Dr. Jason Valentine. His work focuses on the design and implementation of compact and efficient hyperspectral imaging (HSI) systems. By integrating broadband metasurfaces with advanced spectral reconstruction algorithms, Rahul aims to develop next-generation HSI devices that are both miniaturized and high-performance.
As a VINSE superuser, Rahul will be training new users on key nanofabrication tools, including the Oxford Cobra ICP-RIE system, the Angstrom Multimode deposition system, and the Angstrom resistive evaporation system.
Outside the lab, Rahul enjoys boxing, and regularly plays ultimate frisbee and volleyball with his friends.
