Overview

Micaela is a member of the class of 2027, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Digital Fabrication. She joined VINSE as part of the Tech Crew in Summer 2025, where she worked on developing an electroplating method to make soft lithography. Micaela is particularly interested in operating advanced tools and performing different types of nanofabrication within the cleanroom. In addition to Tech Crew responsibilities, she is working at the Gonzales lab developing the necessary packaging for neural interfaces to be chronically implanted and housed for long-term recordings. Outside the cleanroom, Micaela is a member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and an active member of the Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity.
