Overview

Janell joined Vanderbilt in 1996 and has since made significant contributions across various roles within the university. As the Program Manager for VINSE, she oversees daily operations, manages the NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) summer program, coordinates the VINSE newsletter, and leads the institute’s social media efforts. She is also responsible for monitoring pilot funding budgets and iLab invoicing and payments. With extensive experience in budget management, strategic planning, and leadership, Janell brings a wealth of knowledge to her position. She has previously served as Senior Grants Manager for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, managing a $21 million research portfolio, and assisting faculty with complex funding requirements.

Outside of work, Janell enjoys crocheting, trivia, and taking road trips in search of historical markers.
