
Three VINSE faculty members were honored for outstanding excellence and achievement within the School of Engineering. These faculty members were recognized for contributions to research and teaching. VINSE extends its congratulations to the awardees for their dedication, innovation, and leadership within the engineering and nanoscale science communities.
Award for Excellence in Teaching: Bridget Rogers, Associate Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, underscores her commitment to mentorship and groundbreaking scholarship.
Rising Star Research Award: Xiaoguang Dong, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, for advancing knowledge and nurturing the next generation of engineers. Xiaoguang’s research focuses on designing and fabricating novel medical devices with nano- and micro-scale resolution.
Interdisciplinary Research Publication Award: Jason Valentine, professor of mechanical engineering, Deputy Director, Vanderbilt Institute of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, and University Liaison to Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Jason’s article “Multichannel meta-imagers for accelerating machine vision’ was published in Nature Nanotechnology, 19 471-478 (2024).
