AI can help to design of nano optics which is a growing field with potential of being wildly applied in many promising applications such as self-driving car, cell phone sensor and integrated thermal emitters. The nano optics can also serve as an optical front end for convolutional NN to make a more efficient computation of convolution. The emerging trend between nano optics and AI can benefit both fields and advance each other in the future.
