As a surgeon-scientist and clinical informaticist, my work centers on leveraging artificial intelligence to reduce suffering and improve outcomes across the healthcare continuum. I develop predictive analytics tools and novel medical devices that integrate with electronic medical record systems and are designed with clinical workflows in mind. I focus on real-world clinical impact and leverage implementation science principles to achieve this aim. My research sits at the intersection of surgery, data science, and implementation science, and is inherently interdisciplinary-bringing together clinicians, engineers, and health policy experts to address complex challenges in patient care. VALIANT’s mission to advance AI through cross-disciplinary collaboration directly aligns with my goal of translating data-driven innovation into meaningful improvements in both patient and provider experiences.
