Seth Ogilvie is a communicator and strategic thinker with two decades of experience telling stories, researching topics, and making complicated issues accessible. Before entering the public sector, Seth excelled in several journalism medium, including newspaper, radio and television. Seth helped guide the Tennessee Department of Education through the first months of the Covid-19 pandemic, establishing partnerships with television stations and numerous stakeholders, ensuring learning continued. Seth rebuilt the Mayor of Boise’s reputation after a turbulent first year and repaired numerous frayed relationships. At the Vanderbilt Project on Unity & American Democracy, Seth guides the strategy behind the essential message.

Seth advances the Project’s external reach through the regular pitching of Unity Project initiatives and collaborations to media outlets, news sources, and social media streams. He oversees additional communications-related efforts, including the Unity Talks podcast, journalism fellowship program, and op-ed publications.
