Ayaz Mammadov

Director of Research Initiatives

Ayaz Mammadov joined the Vanderbilt Project on Unity & American Democracy in August 2023. Previously, he served in various research positions at policy centers, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions. He received his master’s degree in data science from the School of Information and master’s degree in public policy from the Gerald Ford School of Public Policy at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, he earned his M.A. in international relations and economics from the Near East University and his B.A. in international relations and european studies from Azerbaijan University of Languages.

Mammadov develops methodologies and research areas to deepen the Unity Project’s issue areas, with the specific goal of making the Unity Project more accessible to non-academic audiences. He also works to analyze the effectiveness of the Unity Lab training program, as well as maintaining the Vanderbilt Unity Poll.
