On Unity: We asked an economist and here’s what they said

Friends and fellow citizens,

Midterm elections are right around the corner and our nation’s economy is top of mind for many. This week, I sat down with Mark Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics to discuss the state of the U.S. economy in the past, present and future. Mark is the author of Paying the Price: Ending the Great Recession, Beginning a New American Century and the book Financial Shock: A 360º Look at the Subprime Mortgage Implosion, and How to Avoid the Next Financial Crisis.

Tune in on Wednesday, Sept. 28, at noon to see the Unity Project’s latest program, “Ask an Economist” to hear the facts and evidence on this important issue.

Questions were submitted by citizens, like you, who are looking to make sense of our multifaceted economy and ground their understanding in research and data. Mark offers his professional opinion on topics ranging from today’s economic conditions compared to that of the 1970s recession; solutions for controlling inflation; the probability of a recession in the near future; geopolitical challenges; the demographics of the workforce; and economic pain points that impact all Americans.

We hope you’ll find the time to watch this informative discussion.

Respectfully,

Gray Sasser
