These fees may be paid to Vanderbilt or to third parties; see the estimates for each of these categories below.

Fees Paid to Vanderbilt University

Students pay Vanderbilt tuition for each term abroad (read more). Fees paid to Vanderbilt University will be typically be billed according to the Office of Student Account's regular schedule for the term.Any Vanderbilt summer funding you have been awarded will be automatically applied to your account.

Included in fees paid to Vanderbilt University: IFSA-Butler/LSE tuition (3.75 credits), housing, partial meal plan, and IFSA-Butler health insurance. Supplemental housing fees may apply.

This is a summer program. Wherever possible, summer Vanderbilt tuition will be used to cover all costs of the program, including housing and other standard costs billable by GEO's overseas partners. Fees due to individual circumstance, such as additional course fees, housing cleanup fees, visa fees, and other fees not included in our partners' standard billing cannot be included. Please note the following about the out-of-pocket costs listed above:

  • Vanderbilt summer tuition is billed by the credit hour (Vanderbilt fee posting). The tuition amount given here reflects this program's standard load of 3.75 credits. If you undertake more than the standard load of credit hours Vanderbilt will bill for any additional hours upon return.
  • The cost of Vanderbilt's mandatory health insurance coverage (GeoBlue) is included in the Program Fee paid to Vanderbilt. This cost is based on the length of the program and accounts for $64 of the listed Program Fee.
  • Visa/residence permit costs and requirements may vary depending on your nationality.
  • Students planning to engage in certain activities (e.g. an internship) may require a student visa to enter the UK at additional cost.
  • Airfare costs are highly variable and influenced by a number of factors so we recommend making your own estimates based on your personal travel plans.
  • There may be predeparture costs associated with health checks vaccination prescriptions, etc. These costs will vary individually and are not estimated here."

    In addition to the costs above, you should also maintain your health insurance coverage in your home country in case of medical emergency.
