2022-2023 Vanderbilt Holy Days Calendar

The Center for Spiritual and Religious Life has made the academic year 2022-2023 Holy Days Calendar available. The calendar allows students, faculty, and staff to be aware of religious observances and to plan academic and work responsibilities accordingly. The undergraduate Student Handbook states, “It is the obligation of students to provide faculty with reasonable notice of the dates of religious holidays on which they will be absent, preferably at the beginning of the semester. Students who are absent on days of examinations or class assignments should be offered an opportunity to make up the work without penalty (if they have previously arranged to be absent), unless it can be demonstrated that a makeup opportunity would constitute an unreasonable burden on a member of the faculty.” Graduate and professional students are governed by the policies of their college or school.

Based on the Anti-defamation League’s Calendar of Observances and other multifaith resources, the Center’s staff strives to make the calendar as accurate as possible. If there are mistakes, please the the Center’s staff know at religouslife@vanderbilt.edu.
