Legacy & Annual Programs
The Center for Spiritual and Religious Life hosts a number of annual programs and event series connected to its mission.
Holocaust Lecture Series
The Holocaust Lecture Series (HLS) was established by the University Chaplain, the Rev. Beverly A. Asbury, in 1977 and has become the longest continuous lecture series on the Holocaust at an American university. Dedicated to reflection on ourselves and our society in the wake of the Holocaust, HLS has brought notable scholars, survivors and liberators, and artistic examinations of the Holocaust to Vanderbilt’s campus for over 40 years.
All-Campus Service Project
The annual All-Campus Service Project invites Vanderbilt students, faculty, staff, and community religious leaders to serve the community together for the common good by creating care kits. A $5,000 grant, awarded to the Center for Spiritual and Religious Life from Interfaith America, aids in the supply of care kit items and provides dinners for participants.
