Current Opportunities at Vanderbilt

Dr. Huize Pan’s laboratory at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to pursue several exciting directions in the field of cardiovascular and metabolic research.

Department Division of Cardiology
Full Description

Dr. Huize Pan’s laboratory at VUMC is seeking a motivated postdoctoral researcher to pursue several exciting directions in the field of cardiovascular and metabolic research.

The Pan Lab is dedicated to revealing how atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease develops and identifying therapeutic targets for the disease. Smooth muscle cells play a pivotal role in promoting atherosclerosis. They can change their identity to other cell types in the disease and contribute to the largest cell population within disease lesions. The current focus of the lab is on investigating how smooth muscle cells and their interactions with various cell types, such as endothelial cells, macrophages, and T cells, drive the progression of atherosclerosis.

The postdoctoral researcher will lead several projects and leverage cutting-edge technologies (e.g., single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics) and novel models (e.g., cell lineage tracing mice, in vivo Tet-On inducible systems) to achieve the research goals.

Application Details

Required Qualifications:

* PhD or MD in molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, cardiovascular medicine, or related fields with a good publication track record.
