Pranav Karve, Ph.D.

Dr. Pranav Karve, a former postdoctoral scholar in the School of Engineering, recently began a tenure-track faculty appointment as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Karve first joined Vanderbilt in September 2016 as a postdoc in Dr. Ravindra Duddu’s lab before continuing his postdoctoral research with Dr. Sankaran Mahadevan. He later held Research Assistant and Research Associate Professor roles within the school prior to his current faculty appointment.

Dr. Pranav Karve’s research is at intersection of scientific computing and machine learning with applications in engineering. Specific topics include: digital twins for aircraft components, inverse modeling, wave propagation in solids, and uncertainty quantification.
