LIVE hosted the MATHia & Metacognition Data Science Challenge, bringing together those interested in data science and education technology. Participants analyzed real-world student data, built predictive models, and competed for cash prizes. The program ran throughout summer 2025 and offered ongoing mentorship and support throughout.
Hosted by Drs. Cristina Zepeda and Kelley Durkin in collaboration with LIVE, Carnegie Learning, Vanderbilt’s Peabody College, and the Data Science Institute, this 10-week interdisciplinary competition is open to students of all majors, programs, and backgrounds. Participants will work in teams to explore real student interaction data from Carnegie Learning’s intelligent math platform, MATHia. Your mission: uncover patterns, predict learning outcomes, and help advance personalized math education.
