2025 SCALE Symposium

The 2025 SCALE Symposium marked a major milestone in the program’s growth, as it was hosted for the first time outside Purdue University, this year at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Krish Roy, Dean of the Vanderbilt School of Engineering, opened the event by welcoming attendees to campus. Vanderbilt’s leadership in the Radiation Hardening vertical, led by Dr. Mike Alles, made it a fitting location for this year’s gathering.

More than 90 participants joined the symposium in person and online, including faculty, industry representatives, and government partners. The event served as a valuable opportunity for attendees to share updates, exchange ideas, and strengthen working relationships.

Over the past year, the SCALE program has continued to grow. Student involvement has increased significantly, new institutional and industry partners have come on board, and the program has introduced additional hands-on experiences for students preparing for careers in microelectronics.

The symposium included keynote talks, technical presentations, and collaborative sessions focused on practical challenges and shared tools. Participants discussed ways to improve efficiency, reviewed progress within the program’s verticals, and explored potential areas for future development. Technical demonstrations also gave attendees a closer look at platforms currently used by SCALE students and faculty.

Thank you to all who participated and contributed to this year’s event. The SCALE community looks ahead to next year’s symposium, which will return to Purdue University in 2026.
