Mar. 14, 2020 – Changes to VandyRide
Beginning Monday, March 16, VandyRide will move to using small, open-air vehicles to provide safety escorts for students, faculty and staff. This is a temporary measure that will provide social distancing for both our riders and drivers and reduce potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. This service will be available 24/7 and will provide transport for two riders at a time. The vehicles provide seat belts and a grab bar for rider safety, and a roof for protection from weather. Riders can call VUPS Communications at 615-322-2745 to request an escort. Be aware that in the event of severe weather, drivers may be delayed to ensure everyone’s safety.
