Why data science? It’s a very versatile field. Almost every area of human activity needs to collect and use data effectively and creatively, and I would love to be able to make a difference in a field where data science approaches are not yet the norm.
Why did you choose Vanderbilt? The program is very custom designed, as opposed to being a mix and match of various math, stats, programming courses. Also Nashville looked fun 🙂
What are your hobbies / what do you enjoy doing outside of work and academics? Photography, all kinds of intramural sports, skateboarding, cooking, and live music.
